Dr. Townsend was educated at the prestigious and progressive Life West Chiropractic College in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Life West is a leading Chiropractic college offering unique exploration and training in many different areas of chiropractic techniques and research. Prior to attending Life West Dr. Townsend helped the people of the San Francisco Bay Area in the emergency medical field as a Paramedic. He helped countless patients during their most trying times and developed a knack for reassuring and calming patients during a crisis. Dr. Townsend is able to utilize and blend these experiences to suit individual patient needs and preferences. Each patient's spine is unique; therefore each patient's care plan must be unique as well. He interned in a large busy San Francisco based office seeing up to 500 patients a week. Doctor Townsend moved his family to Vermont in order to operate a practice where he could spend the time necessary with each patient to form a trusting bond and lasting relationship that would deliver effective total care. He opened his South Burlington, Vermont based practice in 2001. He remains accessible to all of his patients, new and established. The Doctor believes that healing takes many forms. And armed with that philosophy Chiropractic First engages in ongoing community outreach programs which benefit local charities.
